The telomerase enzyme adds repetitive DNA to the end of chromosomes to increase their stability

Dr. Kao’s first degree was completed at the University of Wollongong. She studied Advanced Science, majoring in chemistry. Her first research project was in protein structure and drug design, studying structural similarities between telomerase and reverse transcriptase anzymes. These are both special proteins that can create new DNA.
